Open Question: Lake laws in Columbia, SC.?

We are about to buy a house on a lake in South Carolina. The only thing the Realtor told us about the lake is you cant use anything with a motor. After looking online i cant find any laws or rules for this lake. Im unsure if we need a fishing license to fish on the lake, since our property sits on the lake or what.
